The moment you bring your baby home from the hospital, the first you'll probably do - aside from feeding him or her - is to dress up your little bundle of joy. More often than not however, most parents will fuss over everything except their baby's socks. That's somewhat unfortunate, especially since baby socks are more important than they look.
For a baby's first few months, it's best that he, or she, sticks to wearing socks or booties. It's crucial that infant socks are large enough so that your child feels comfortable. The more comfortable your baby is, the less you have to worry about fussing and excessive crying. As a rule of thumb, it's best to pick baby socks that are an inch larger than your child's feet.

Make sure that the sucks you buy are loose and soft. If you live in a tropical region, stick to breathable cotton. But if the winters where you live are harsh, then it's best to go for wool socks.
Remember that babies are unable to regulate their body temperatures, so choosing the right material can make the difference between a happy or cranky child.
